A journey built to last

From our founding on the Great Lakes to today's Brazilian operation: a story of steady growth, always centered on the customer.

UWL is an American international logistics company headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, operating as a freight forwarder and NVOCC. As part of the World Group ecosystem, it combines global reach and local knowledge to deliver integrated logistics solutions across ocean, air, road and rail. With a close, agile approach tailored to the needs of each operation, UWL works as an extension of its customers’ teams, connecting markets and simplifying the management of their supply chains.

Founded in 1960 by Jack Hunger, inspired by the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway, World Shipping, Inc. began by providing vessel agency services in the Great Lakes region. More than 65 years later, it became World Group: a network of companies offering integrated solutions in ocean and land transportation, freight forwarding/NVOCC, air freight, customs brokerage, distribution and vessel support services.
